Building Creator Wealth: Crafting A Content Career Without Quitting Your Day Job

According to Influencer’s 2025 report, only 12% of creators produce content full-time, with many creators seeing the craft as a ‘side hustle’. So how can we help creators start to build this career alongside their 9-5, meeting people at a place that feels realistic in the current economy? This session breaks down the real starting point for creator monetisation – long before brand deals or big audiences.

Designed for smaller, aspiring creators, it focuses on what actually moves the needle early on: consistent content and understanding value. With examples and realistic income expectations, the session reframes monetisation as a process, not a milestone, and shows creators how to set themselves up for sustainable income over time.

From Content to Film & TV: How to SMASH Your Pitch

Got a format, a series, or a world you’ve built — or just an idea you think could be more than content? This is where you learn how to pitch it.

In 45 minutes, you’ll learn what the film and TV industry actually wants to hear when a creator pitches a format or world for adaptation, how to frame what you’ve built so a producer or broadcaster can see the film or TV version of it, and the techniques that make a pitch land in the room. It’s interactive and fast-moving, and a few volunteers will get to pitch live at the end for direct feedback.

Whether you’ve already got something in development or you’re just starting to think “this could be a show” — come with it in mind, and leave knowing how to pitch it like a producer would.

My SMASH Media is an IP matchmaking platform connecting creators with the producers, broadcasters and financiers who develop projects for film and TV — beyond the usual closed industry networks. SMASH is free for Creators.

Founders Fiona Gillies and Christine Hartland are independent feature producers who’ve run pitch workshops for the Glasgow Film Festival, BBC Writers, NFTS, Storyhouse Ireland and more.

From Coin Flip to Confidence: Scaling the Impact of Creator Marketing

Creator marketing is scaling fast, but making the right content decisions is becoming harder. With so many signals to navigate, it’s not always clear what’s driving real impact.

In this fireside conversation, Kantar’s Creative thought leader Vera Sidlova is joined by a senior social platform leader and a creator to explore what sits behind high-performing content, and how brands can bridge the gap between engagement and business results.

Bringing together platform perspectives and creator experience, Vera will share insights from The Creator Game Plan, which is based on analysis of 15,000 creator assets across TikTok, YouTube and Instagram and reveals what drives effectiveness in practice.

Together, we’ll unpack how brands can make smarter decisions about what to create, who to partner with, and what to scale and  help creators develop ideas that brands will want to invest in.

We Need to Touch Grass: An Influencer Industry Intervention

The influencer kool-aid isn’t hitting like it used to. The same references recycled. The same formulas rewarded. The same ideas applauded. The echo chamber became the strategy.

If you’ve ever felt quietly unsatisfied despite doing everything “right”, this session is for you. Part intervention, part invitation, Charlie Oscar offers a two-step guided trip for marketers ready to escape the echo chamber.

First: Return to Clarity. Relearn the fundamentals. Understand influencer’s role in the wider media ecosystem. Demystify measurement. Cut through the noise.

Then: Find Your Nerve. Explore what’s possible beyond the template. Discover new shapes content can take, new places it can live, and how to build worlds, IP and influence systems that people choose to return to.

No lectures. No guilt trips. No recycled frameworks.

We’ll hold your hand while you hold your nerve. The echo chamber can’t find you here.

Stop being superhuman. How we made two creators stop doing six jobs at once.

How many different jobs are you actually doing? How much content is living in your Notes? And how much time are you wasting that you don’t have to?

The 30-Day AI experiment: real numbers from two creators who went all in. Sara & Ryan were spending 20 hours a week on content admin: trend research, captions, analytics, planning. So they decided to run an experiment. For 30 days, they replaced their entire workflow with an AI agent and tracked every minute.

In this session, they reveal the real numbers: how much time they saved, what surprised them, and what didn’t work at all. You’ll hear the real story and get to ask questions. Then our Head of Product will help you try Kinetik yourself: analyze your own account and walk out with post ideas and a draft caption written in your voice, ready to publish. Scaling Creator Marketing Without Killing Creativity

As creator marketing grows, brands optimise for efficiency: formats, paid amplification, media performance and process. The risk is that creator work becomes brand-led paid social disguised as authenticity, rather than distinctive, effective creative.

The core question is: how can brands scale creator marketing without losing the creativity and authenticity that make it work in the first place?

This discussion explores whether the industry is prioritising efficiency over effectiveness.

Building Creator Wealth: Taking The Leap & Going Full Time

Transitioning from a side-hustle creator to a full-time business owner is one of the most exhilarating – and terrifying – pivots a person can make. But how do you move from “making some money” to “building a sustainable career”, and what might go wrong along the way?

In this session, we peel back the curtain on the financial and emotional realities of going pro. Our panel of veteran creators will share the exact “green lights” that signalled it was time to quit their day jobs, the safety nets they built (and the ones that broke), and the unforeseen challenges of managing a business where you are both the product and the CEO.

Sh*t! We Got It Wrong. Creator Marketings Biggest Fails & Fixes

Every brand leader has a creator campaign they’d rather forget. This is the workshop where we say it out loud.

Closed & off the record – no names, no recordings, no LinkedIn posts. Nothing leaves the room.

Confess your worst – share the fails, vote on the most spectacular, crown a few winners.

Leave with the fixes – the resolutions that actually work, not just the war stories.

See round the corner – why “rent reach” is dying, why consistent content at scale is the real halo, and why AI is about to make these fails far more expensive.

Expect to laugh, wince, and rethink how your brand shows up in culture.

A 45 minute interactive workshop for senior brand leaders, built around the biggest fails in creator marketing – confessional, fun, and very hands on.

Your Influencer Strategy Is Broken. Stop Choosing Between Brand and Performance.

Most brands are still treating influencer marketing as a binary choice: invest in brand building or chase performance. That thinking is outdated and it’s costing real revenue. A few years ago, the playbook was simple: hire a big name, get exposure, hope it converts. That era is over. Audiences are smarter, trust is harder to earn, and creators who’ve built genuine communities are becoming the most valuable media channel in the market. This session is about that shift and why brands that keep forcing the trade-off between brand and performance will keep losing to those who don’t.

The IRL Advantage: Why the Next Creator Boom Happens Offline

Content is going from scarce to abundant to infinite. As AI industrialises the feed, something else is becoming precious: human presence, craft, and real connection. The creators who see this first have a head start on a revenue stream that’s entirely in their control.

Yalin Solmaz (EMEA Acquisitions Lead, Airbnb Experiences) spent seven years at YouTube watching the creator economy take shape, then two more inside the generative AI industry watching it transform. In this session, he makes the case for why IRL isn’t a retreat from digital: it’s the next frontier. He’s joined by three creators who’ve already made the move: Zack Pinsent, historical tailor with 782K followers; Låpsley, independent musician with 380 million streams; and Mary-Havana Little, one of Britain’s few female fibrous-plaster specialists with 221K followers.

Each shares a five-minute talk on why they started hosting experiences, what it’s done for their community, and what it’s unlocked commercially, including a new, more meaningful surface for brand partnerships that a like, a view, or a comment simply can’t match. Q&A follows.

The creators that win the next decade won’t be the ones who optimise the feed. They’ll be the ones who give their audience a reason to leave it.

Power to the paywall: Are you subscription-ready?

Creators are increasingly using subscription models such as Patreon to generate predictable revenue and moving beyond reliance on inconsistent ad revenue or one-off brand deals. As influencers seek a more stable working environment, this model hopefully signals the start of a new era, where content creators can rely on a more regular income.

But how can creators and brands alike tap into this quickly expanding market for paid content? In this session we invite Patreon’s UK Aquisitions Manager Emi Geddes to deliver a masterclass on paving the way to subscription greatness, talking about what differentiates strong paid content from what is freely available, how this content can be pitched to followers, and – what we all want to know – the results that harnessing subscription content can offer.

The Most Trusted Creator Already Works for You

The creator economy is no longer just happening outside your business. Employees are becoming some of the most trusted, credible voices for the brands they work for — but the moment you turn them into a channel, do you risk killing what makes them credible in the first place?

In this session, Bianca Brown (UK Ambassador, Edelman Gen Z Lab) moderates a scenario-led debate across three situations every brand will recognise: the junior employee whose content goes viral before legal finds out, the senior expert whose LinkedIn outperforms the brand page, and the moment an employee post sparks a backlash with your logo in the bio.

Stop sleeping on LinkedIn! How creators can monetise the B2B world

What the World’s Biggest Brands Actually Want From Creators

Creator marketing budgets are up 171% year-over-year — but brands are still leaving money on the table. CreativeX research found that 28% of creator ad spend on Meta was effectively wasted in 2025 when branding missed the first three seconds. The infrastructure problem is getting solved. The question is: are creators keeping up?

Nestlé’s Daniele Tundo and CreativeX CEO and Founder Anastasia Leng join CreatorIQ Chief Customer Officer Jen Cho for an honest conversation about what it takes to build a long-term relationship with a global enterprise brand — from how Nestlé finds, vets, and briefs creators, to the creative standards and brand suitability requirements that separate a one-off post from a recurring partnership. Plus: what creators can do right now to speak the language of media effectiveness, and why that’s increasingly the difference between getting the brief and getting passed over. For creators looking to win bigger brand partnerships, and for marketers trying to scale what works.

Escape The Algorithm: How To Build Genuine Connection In The Year Of Intentional Content Consumption

Social media feeds feel… repetitive, don’t they?

Algorithms increasingly push similar content, flattening what’s considered ‘popular’ and making it incredibly tough for any brand to truly shine. But some brands (think Rhode, Crocs, Loewe) are cutting through. They’re building a unique sense of prestige and desirability, not by following the standard marketing playbook, but by boldly breaking it.

Creators should be your natural conduit to your brand’s target audience, but even their content can fall into predictable patterns. This session will reveal how to re-imagine creator partnerships, moving far beyond routine tactics to generate genuine buzz and make your brand truly distinctive in a saturated digital landscape.

What we’ll cover:

  • Understand the “Great Sameness”: Identify why your brand struggles to stand out in feeds where algorithms push similar content
  • Learn from the true cultivators of taste: Discover how some brands and creators have built desirability by defying common creator marketing tactics.
  • Make content that builds connection: Start to create a framework for making content that will actually represent who you are (or want to be)
  • Cultivate intentional consumption: As people are being more choosy and intentional with how they consume online, be a brand or creator that creates content people want and see as valuable, crafted, and prestige.

Redefining Long-Term Creator Relationships In The Fight Against ‘Authenticity’

Each year, ITV brings together forward thinking and culturally relevant content creators that have become an extension and integral part of the ITV brand. For a while now the way that broadcasters work with creators has been changing, but this session will explore how this relationship has changed and the opportunities that avail for creators today when working with major channels.

We will also look at how, as ‘authenticity’ becomes contested, there is ongoing need for a creator-centric approach in this increasingly metric-driven industry. After all, the way to fight back against content that is perfectly preened to appear authentic is NOT bland, AI-driven posts.

Wait.. That’s Not Legal?! The Legal Mistakes You Are Making Online

Today, almost everything you build, share or sell involves content, collaborations and online visibility, which means that understanding the legal rules, rights and responsibilities behind these is no longer optional.

It’s not just legal theory; it’s about protecting budgets, content, campaigns and reputation.

This is going to be a deep-dive session on how to maximise strategies, campaigns and collaborations by understanding the rules (platform rules vs the law, risk assessment, sanctions), recognising the importance of Intellectual Property (brand protection, content usage rights, the use of memes, music and AI) as well as the importance of clear and strong Contracts (collaboration agreements, licensing & IP rights assignments, exclusivity, essential clauses).

The goal of this session is to share knowledge on the legal side of today’s digital world (with a main focus on the importance of Intellectual Property, Contracts and the “Social Media” laws), so that creators, businesses and agencies can maximise their campaigns and budgets in a smart and safe way.

From Memes To Big Dreams: Hunsnet Founder On Creating A Joyous Brand From Humble Beginnings

Hunsnet started as a meme account on Instagram, but it fast became a huge online community space for everyone who dares to identify as a Hun. Founded in 2017, Gareth Howells started his page to celebrate Hun culture, which he defines as always positive and funny but never cruel, celebrating British pop culture and humour, gently ribbing the celebrity scene of the Nineties and Noughties, and slightly silly but always fabulous nostalgia.

Since founding Hunsnet, Gareth has launched two different podcasts, written a book and launched a line of merch, partnering with iconic brands that want to align with all things ‘Hun’, all while continuing to grow his following. With Hunsnet turning 10 next year, this session will discover how Gareth has built up such an iconic brand, keeping it going through different cultural shifts, and learning from any mistakes along the way.

Inspiring Creativity In A World Trending Towards AI Slop

The creator economy has reached a critical point. While AI has made content production easier, it has also flooded our feeds with algorithmic “slop” – high-volume content that lacks soul and genuine perspective.

The good news is that as audiences grow increasingly weary of this, the value of authentic, emotionally resonant storytelling has never been higher.

So, this session will explore how to reject the race to the bottom of volume-driven content and instead embrace true creativity, covering everything from how to get into a creative headspace to how to execute these ideas in a way that is true to you.

Why Brands Are Betting on Podcasts: Audio as a Strategic Marketing Channel

As traditional marketing channels become more saturated and less trusted, brands are turning to podcasts as a powerful way to build deeper, more meaningful relationships with their audiences. No longer just an advertising channel, podcasting is emerging as a strategic platform for brand storytelling and long-term audience engagement.

This session explores how brands are using podcasts as sustained content ecosystems that drive affinity and trust. We’ll look at what makes a branded podcast successful, how organisations are integrating podcasts into wider marketing strategies, and why podcasts offer a unique level of attention and connection compared to other formats.

As podcasting continues to evolve, this session will look at why podcasts are becoming an increasingly important part of the marketing mix for brands.

Inside The Studio: How Creators Are Rewriting The Rules Of Entertainment

This session sets the scene for how creators have become today’s primary culture-makers – and why that cultural power is now driving measurable commercial results in entertainment.

As major studios look well beyond their first wave of creator partnerships and get comfortable with the importance of a creator-led strategy, the conversation examines what it means to take this strategy to the next level: accelerating creator-led IP into scalable entertainment franchises, and activating built-in fandoms through collaborations.

Bringing together the cultural reach and entertainment know-how of Sky, and Digital Voices’ strategic perspective on creator-led growth, the session offers practical insight into how entertainment brands stay relevant in this new ‘creator-first’ era.
